In Disney's film Oz the Great and Powerful Evanora played by Rachel Weisz has a murderous heart. Evanora kills the King of the Emerald City and blames his death on his daughter Glinda the Good and then tries to rule the Emerald City. Evanora may not be a good witch but she does look good being bad.

Evanora is always dressed to impress as she plays the part of the protector of the Emerald City. Using the Evanora - Oz - Lifesize Cardboard Cutout as reference we can see that Evanora wears a green fitted dress. The dress features long black sheer sleeves with green feather accents. Evanora also wears a black sparkly dress when she attacks the Emerald City; however, this costume analysis will focus on the green number she wears at the beginning of the film Oz the Great and Powerful..

Evanora's brown hair sits around her chin or is pinned to the back of her head. Her hair is accented with a hair clip with two distinctive green feathers attached. The hair clips is pinned to the top of her head.

Another key aspect of the Evanora costume would be the nail art that she sports on her fingernails. Her nails are designed to feature a black triangle accented with silver glitter. I loved the shape of Evanora's green dress. I think the split down the center gives it a more sensual look. I also like that this dress is simple and not over the top with beading which makes it more wearable. The simple green dress offsets the mesh and feather detailing beautifully.

Having said that, it is probably the presence of the feathers in the hair that will make the strongest reference to the Evanora character.

Theodora makes the transformation into the Wicked Witch of the West in the film Oz the Great and Powerful. Evanora is her sister so that would make her the Wicked Witch of the East who Dorthy Gale's house lands on. So at some point Evanora will wear the ruby red slippers.

If you would like to pay homage to the classic film Wizard of Oz (1939) you may choose to add some flair to your Evanora costume by wearing the red sparkly shoes that took Dorthy home to Kansas.

You can create you own pair of ruby red slippers by recycling an old pair of dress shoes. Paint them red, seal with a layer of Mod Podge then add some red sparkles. Spray with an acrylic sealer to finish off your ruby red slippers.
